ABOUT US

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The Artistè Foundation is a Canada-based global arts and humanitarian organization dedicated to empowering women, refugees, survivors, and youth through creativity, education, and cultural preservation.

At Artistè, we celebrate the power of creativity, culture, and identity.  Our programs use art as a tool for empowerment and healing, offering opportunities for education, mentorship, creative expression, cross-cultural collaboration, dialogue and advocacy.

ROOTED IN STORY, ARTS & LEGACY

Founded by Arta Rexhepi, The Artistè Foundation carries forward a family legacy of arts and cultural storytelling rooted in resilience and identity.

The Rexhepi family arrived in Canada in 1999 during the Kosovo refugee resettlement period. Arta is the daughter of artist Zeqirja Rexhepi and comes from a lineage of artists and cultural practitioners whose work has been shaped by expression, memory, and survival through art.

This lived history informs the foundation’s belief that storytelling is not only creative expression, but cultural preservation.

OUR APPROACH

We center lived experience, artistic practice, and community engagement. Our work bridges artists, newcomers, and cultural voices through programming, storytelling initiatives, exhibits, musical programs and collaborative creative spaces.

We focus on building visibility for stories that carry emotional, historical, and cultural weight ensuring they are not lost, but shared and preserved.

OUR TEAM

The work is supported by a collective of women and men arts and film professionals, human rights advocates dedicated to arts advocacy, storytelling, and cultural engagement. Together, they bring lived experience, creative practice, and a shared commitment to community impact.
