Bujar Llapaj
Arts Selection Juror
Bujar Llapaj is an internationally recognized Albanian orchestra conductor and educator. He studied at the University of Arts in Tirana and the Conservatoire National de Rueil-Malmaison in France, where he received the Gold Medal in Conducting.
He served as Artistic Director of the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, founded the New Philharmonic Orchestra, and chaired the conducting department at the University of Arts in Tirana. Llapaj has conducted concerts across Europe and North America, including in London, Paris, Rome, Toronto, and Athens.
In Canada, he served as Principal Conductor of the West Coast Symphony Orchestra in Vancouver and is currently Conductor and Music Director of the Ambleside Orchestra in North Vancouver.
