Blerina Ruka is a media professional, storyteller, and community leader with extensive experience in journalism, communications, and public engagement. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of both Albanian Montreal Press and Whoman Canada Magazine, platforms dedicated to amplifying inspiring stories of women, community leaders, and members of the Albanian diaspora across North America.
With a career spanning journalism in Albania, work with the United Nations, and experience within the fashion and media industries, Blerina brings creativity, strategic thinking, and a strong communications vision to every initiative she leads. Under her leadership, Whoman Canada Magazine has grown into a respected publication recognized for its impactful storytelling, compelling content, and visual excellence.
As Director of Media & Communications, Blerina plays a vital role in shaping the organization's public profile and amplifying its mission through media engagement, storytelling, and strategic communications. She has served as Master of Ceremonies for numerous signature events, including the 25@25: Refugees Making a Difference ceremony held at the Parliament of Canada, where her professionalism, presence, and ability to connect with audiences have contributed significantly to the success of these initiatives.
Blerina has also served as a key media spokesperson for the organization, conducting extensive media outreach and coverage through local, national, and international interviews. Through written features, public commentary, digital media, and multiple communications platforms, she has helped elevate stories of resilience, leadership, and community impact to broader audiences.
