Founder’s Story: Arta ‘Artistè’ Rexhepi
Arta ‘Artistè’ Rexhepi is the founder of The Artistè Foundation. She is the daughter of well-known artist Zeqirja Rexhepi and comes from a family with a rich and diverse artistic background. Arta is an Albanian-Canadian journalist and storyteller who arrived in Canada as a refugee in her teens part of Canada’s humanitarian response to the Kosovo refugee crisis ' Operation Parasol'. She has worked at CBC, CTV Atlantic, and CTV News Channel as a national writer. Drawing on her heritage and lived experience, she empowers and advocates for women and newcomers to heal, express themselves, and reclaim their voices through art and creative expression.
